TREE BUDDY POT OF GOLD FIGURINE
This is a larger, unique and pleasing figurine. The image clarity, coloring and construction were top notch, but it definitely was not the best value. One star removed due to it being overpriced.

    This leprechaun is great!
Bought this for my husband for his birthday which is on St. Patrick’s Day. He loves it. We display it in the bathroom and everyone that sees it, comments on it. I have purchased several Tree Buddees ornaments and they are all very good quality.

    Larger than expected
I thought this was a funny small Christmas ornament. But in fact it is large, so it’s just something to be aware of. More of a funny desktop ornament. But hilarious.

  7. Crr

    Bigger than I thought
    Love it

Tasteless? Maybe. Subversive? Undoubtedly. Hilarious? Absolutely! And Also Very Well Made.
I’ve always gravitated toward things that are quirky, weird, unconventional, or even a little subversive. So you can imagine my delight when I ran across this outlandish leprechaun figurine from Tree Buddees. Simultaneously gauche and witty, this figurine is an obvious riff on the cloying sweetness of breakfast cereals such as Lucky Charms, but on a deeper level it’s also a biting satirical comment on the excessiveness of holiday celebrations (imbibe too much on Saint Patrick’s Day, for example, and all the “gold” you spent goes right down the toilet). And on top of that, it is very well made: it’s cast in a solid, durable plastic resin, and all of its little details–everything from the elfin shoes to the coins in the “pot” o’ gold–are skillfully hand painted. This is a unique and hilarious conversation piece that would be great for the living-room coffee table or the home-office desk, but it would also make an awesome gag gift. Yes, it’s a little pricey for a plastic-resin figurine (albeit one that’s nearly four times the average size of the same company’s Christmas ornaments), but in my opinion, both its uniqueness and its quality justify the hefty price tag.
